BioWire 2008

BioWire 2008
A workshop on Bioinspired design of networks
BioWire 2008 was held at IBM Thomas J. Watson Research Center in Hawthorne, NY on October 6-7 2008.
Overview
BioWire 2008 continued the tradition of bringing together researchers from the biology community and the networking commuity together to exchange ideas and technologies. The goal is to improve the design and operation of wireless network systems by leveraging the techniques that have proven to be successful in biological systems -- which have a degree of resiliency and adaptiveness that present-day networks do not.
On the first day, the workshop will have three tutorials. Each tutorial subject will provide in-depth introduction to a technique that is likely to be of interest to networking researchers, biology researchers or both.
On the second day, workshop participants will discuss topics and challenges in wireless networking that can be solved effectively using the biological inspired methods and approaches.
Location
The workshop was held at IBM Thomas J. Watson Center, 19 Skyline Drive, Hawthorne, NY 10532.
Directions to the center and general information about the Center are available at this page.
